Okay, here goes:
* Save on Health Food! Smart Source and Red Plum don’t often carry coupons for “health food,” but I have found Mambo Sprouts to be a valuable resource. Hop over to the Mambo Sprouts website and select from numerous coupons that you can print out at home. Super easy, so can’t use the “healthy eating is too expensive”
excuse any more.
* Get a grip on all things “fat.” There is the fat you eat, and the fat you have, and of the fats you eat, there are trans fats, saturated fats, monounsaturated fats, polyunsaturated fats… There are differences, and your body does need some amount of fat. Find out the ins and outs of fat from Registered Dietitian, Melinda Hemmelgarn, who penned this great article in Organic Valley. Be sure to check out all of the other great stuff the site offers while you’re there.
* Start your day out right…with OATMEAL! Yes! My favorite breakfast food ranks #1. Woot woot. Get the straight up nutrition facts about this super healthy day starter, and your many options for dressing it up and making it even yummier at EatingWell (my fave “go to” site for healthy recipes).
* Body Bar has FREE SHIPPING on orders over $100. Gals, you know those Body Bars weigh a ton (or, they should if you’re ordering the ones heavy enough to help you get to your goal weight/shape), so free shipping is awesome. Think about it – a 15lb bar would cost a small fortune to ship, so take advantage while you can. And if you’re looking for something fresh and challenging to do with your new bar, I highly recommend the Body Bar Boot Camp DVD by Andre Houle.

I peeked at the calendar and realized summer is one month away. Eeeek! I’m not ready to bare all in my bathing suit! Are you? Luckily, I found some super good deals this week to, um, shall we say, help us me “prepare” for hotter weather and, inevitably, wearing fewer clothes. Yikes!
Deal #1: If you don’t already own a stability ball (also called a resistance ball, or Swiss ball), never was there a better time to own one than now. Stability balls are my #1 tool/toy (see: 5 Low-Cost Items Every Home Gym Needs). They are great for core work and a myriad other exercises. SPRI is offering a pink (yeah!) Xercise Ball and Xertube for only $24.98 (reg. $39.98). The kit also includes a pump for the ball and exercise instructions for both the stability ball and resistance tube.
Deal #2:Shipping is still FREE until May 31st on all fitness products from Perform Better. Seriously, stock…up….now! Shipping for a 10lb medicine ball, for example, would normally run you $12 to $20! Think of all the other stuff you can buy (tubes, mats, dumbbells) with the money you save on shipping.
Deal #3:$1.00 Coupon for Pamela’s Baking Mixes. Pamela’s baking mixes are spectacular. Of the assortment, I have tried the pancake mixes (delicious) and the Chocolate Chunk (notice, no “chip” here, but CHUNK) Cookie mix. The pancakes are great. The Choc. Chunk Cookies – OMG! The best I’ve ever had. And – they are gluten free, GMO free, and organic. Whoopie! Visit Mambo Sprouts to print a $1.00 coupon ($1.00 off of two Pamela’s Baking Mixes)
Free: Recipes from EatingWell! This week, EatingWell posted “light” versions of your picnic standby’s (potato and pasta salad, deviled eggs, summer cocktails…even cookies and brownies), so that you can still throw or attend a party, and stay on track with healthy eating.

I was really happy to turn the calendar over to “March” today. Super happy. Then the sun made an appearance late in the day, making it seem like spring might actually be within reach. Hey, in Ohio, these little victories matter.
But, I know that in some parts of the country, the sun actually shines in the winter, making the three months we curse here in the midwest actually tolerable, and fun – especially if you’re into winter sports. If you’re not ready to let go of winter yet and are looking for a great deal on a ski get-away, check this out:
Sunriver Resort, a AAA Four Diamond property in Oregon, is offering a free night and lift tickets to a stay if you go at the end of April. Rooms start as low as $65/night (such a great deal!), and only a 3-night minimum is required. There are taxes and other fees that apply, but still…AND, kids ski free! What a great way to spend a long weekend, or spring break!
